So Below is the moniker of New Zealand-based artist Madeline North; a creative with a penchant for delving into the dark side and emerging with glimmering snippets of electronically-infused pop.
Since 2015, So Below has released a steady string of impressive, moody-pop tracks. Whether that be the self-titled debut EP release in 2016 to The Naked and Famous-produced "Hard" back in 2018, So Below has continued to mesmerise. However, "Bone" is a track that takes everything up another notch again.
"Bone" marks the announcement of So Below's debut album which is due out later this year, and if this is anything to go by, we're going to be in for an absolute treat. It's a song that perfectly finds the equilibrium between pounding dark beats and catchy hooks, luring you in with it's magnetic pop energy.
"I feel like 'Bone' perfectly encapsulates my sound, because its pop but also aggressive and dark", explains North of the monumentous step forward that the new offering marks out. If anything this is a confident sttatement of artistic intent that shows that So Below is ready to really show what she is capable of. "I make the kind of music that I would want to listen to, and I just feel like if I was driving in my car and 'Bone' came on the radio I would definitely not change the station."
