Vonica August 2018

Vonica unleashes an eclectic and endlessly enthralling electronic storm on new track "Swing State"

The German-born, Italian-raised and now London-based producer breaks down boundaries with the exhilarating new offering that comes ahead of the release of his debut EP.

Buckle up, because you're about to be taken on a whirlwind ride straight into the mind of Vonica as he soars across electronic soundscapes with a bouncing vibrancy. "Swing State" is a track that is powered by a pummelling beat that shoots boundlessly forwards in a completely unpredictable style that keeps you guessing as the eccentric rhythms build and collide before you.

It's a carefully concocted cocktail of experimental electronica that feels as though it could fall apart at any second, but somehow stays intact in joyously turbulent fashion. It perfectly depicts the message that Vonica wants to exude, as he explains how the track is meant to reflect the instability he felt on the night of the US election results, as he says "The chorus lyrics "Too soon too soon, I'm not ready for a low" were written on the US election night, when more and more swing states were swinging in the wrong direction…"

The track comes in the lead up to the release of the producer's debut EP, entitled Sol De Nit - which literally means "sun at night" in Catalan - which is due to be released on the 17th August via Lamela.

Vonica will also be playing a special EP launch show at Redon in London with Baba Ali, Hockeysmith and Suitman Jungle.
