Let ESCHES hypnotise you with the minimalist groove of his newest offering "Go"
ESCHES is the moniker of German-born, but now Vienna-based artist Robert Summerfield; an artist who knows a thing or two about creating completely enchanting electronica.
"Go" is only Summerfield's second single as ESCHES and is a song that effortlessly walks the line between minimalist electronica and soul-infused R&B.
There's a real warmth that envelopes Summerfield's buttery falsetto vocals that float above the blanket of interwoven, stripped-back beats which playfully ricochet against the backdrop. The main melodies have a James Blake-esque magic to them, spinning to euphoric highs whilst always feeling tightly controlled and executed with mathematical precision.
The gorgeous track is accompanied by equally stunning black and white visuals which were directed by Marc Jarabe. The video sees performance artist Sejla Softic contort her body in elegant motion, exagerrating the jagged beats and every vocal edge. Although her movements feel somewhat unnerving at first, you become more and more drawn in and eventually it comes across as gentle and completely enchanting.
