Pop’s comeback king, Justin Timberlake has been added to the long – and ever growing – list of big name performers set to appear at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.

With the likes of Kanye West, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke already confirmed, and Daft Punk rumoured, JT has been added to the bill, likely to perform a track from his upcoming second part of The 20/20 Experience.

Timberlake will also pick up the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, given to an artist annually who has had a “pioneering and innovative impact” on the growth of music videos.

The MTV VMAs will take place on 25 August in New York.
