Gruff Rhys – Sensations in the Dark (The Line of Best Fit Session)
Last week we had the online exclusive of his Blackpool-based album launch but this week we’re taking you right back to late January, when we met Gruff Rhys over in East London for a quick TLOBF Session.
‘Sensations in the Dark’ – a three chord wonder about the discovery of music – takes its title from Gruff’s keyboard (used in our session) and its illuminated keys, which light on touch. We called it a wonderful piece of “funk-infused Latin art-pop” in our review and here’s it stripped down to a folksome lo-fi burst of intent and understatement.
Special thanks to Hannah at the Paper Dress Vintage Cafe on Curtain Road in Shoreditch for allowing us the freedom to film amongst her wonderful shop.
