First Ja Ja Ja line-up of 2011 revealed, Tom Robinson to curate

By The Line Of Best Fit, 12 January 2011

After a much deserved festive hiatus spent eating Lutefisk and the occasional roasted spud, Ja Ja Ja returns rejuvenated and refreshed for a new year packed with incredible talent. After Novembers sensational night which featured the debut UK performance from Niki and the Dove, January sees BBC 6Music’s Tom Robinson pick three of his favourite Nordic acts – those being: Benni Hemm Hemm (Iceland), Montée (Norway) and Murmansk (Finland).

Musically mixing up dazzling multi-instrumental indie-pop, adventurous disco beats and a little distorted and rough around the edges shoegaze. All cooking up a fantastic musical feast in the Nordic melting pot that is Ja Ja Ja, held at Kings Cross / Angel venue The Lexington on January 27 (and the last Thursday of the month thereafter).

As official partner, we’ll be bringing you the latest line-up news, competitions, music and interviews whilst the fine folk at Rockfeedback will be joining the team to provide live video footage and lots more.

For those of you whose ears have been under a big rock for the last however many years, Tom Robinson is quite simply a national treasure. A songwriter in his own right, he has released nineteen albums between 1975-2001, but is best known perhaps for his radio presenting, having worked at BBC 6 Music since 2002, introducing the UK to the best new music around.
