Taken from their forthcoming eponymous full-length debut, Yuck have revealed the video to ‘Holing Out’.
Amongst those joining the likes of Pulp, Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti, Belle & Sebastian and Flaming Lips at Primavera Sound 2011 will be Tennis, Low, Yuck and Caribou.
Seventeen acts hand-picked by The Line Of Best Fit editor Rich Thane in attempt to not only point out where the musical landscape of 2011 could point towards but, and perhaps more importantly, showcase a selection of acts that define what this very website is all about.
A superb way of capping off a super successful year – not only for Yuck and Porcelain Raft – but for the label/blog that discovered both acts. I’m of course talking about Transparent Records who have sneaked this super limited edition 7″ single out just in time for Christmas.
Yuck have announced lead single ‘Holing Out’ from their eponymous debut album will be released on February 7 alongside UK and US dates.
Yuck’s self-titled debut album is due for release on February 21 and will be accompanied by a headline UK tour.
By now, we know all about their nineties inspired college jams that soar with ease; filled to the brim with melodic pop hooks and blissed out guitar breaks. But underneath it all, what music actually makes them tick? Here, Max Bloom (guitar) and Daniel Blumberg (vocals) curate a special downloadable mix-tape in which track-by-track they take us on a tour of their current musical crushes.
Dragging grunge music kicking and screaming from it’s home in the early 90s, picking up shoegaze listlessness along the way, Yuck are one of the most exciting acts of 2010…now if only the crowd had got that memo.
They’ve done another u-turn, fucking up our senses with a sprawling doped out jam that rises and falls, peaks and troughs in all the right places. ‘Rubber’ will be released on 12″ vinyl on November 1. It’s the first single to be lifted off their forthcoming debut album, due to land early 2011.
In a sea of over-crowded corporate events that plague the City throughout the Summer, what Field Day lacks in atmosphere it more than makes up for in its line-up. Long may it continue.
Damn. Just WHEN did Yuck become this good? Parenthesising the c in their name for this one-off release, the Weakend EP sees the band focus on a low-fi, stripped-down sound that confirms them as one of the most exciting bands around right now.
