Primavera Sound Festival has confirmed that PJ Harvey and Sufjan Stevens (amongst others) have been added to 2011′s line-up.

With its grandiose music halls and high ceilings this historic folk society house is the perfect setting for the bruised and delicate sound of Perfume Genius’s Michael Hadreas.

Whilst there he sat down at the piano and began to write and record – the results are Learning – a haunting album of raw emotion that will no doubt top many of the end of year polls. I’m not about to declare Perfume Genius (aka one Mike Hadreas) as the new Dylan or anything – but his fragility, wiry frame and vague anonymity reminds me of a young Bobby Zimmerman at the height of his amphetamine fueled early days. Touch him and he’ll snap in half.
