Welcome to our weekly round-up of what’s happening in the grand concert halls, dimly lit basements, airy cafe’s and grimy sweatboxes across the UK and Ireland. All acts featured come with the Best Fit ‘Seal Of Approval’ so you can be assured that your hard earned cash will be well spent. To tempt your wallets this week, we’ve gathered dates from the likes of Haim, Jack White and Cold Specks.

The Low Anthem @ Whelan’s, Dublin 15/06

Having caught the Rhode Island five-piece at No Direction Home this past weekend we can safely say that this is a gig you shouldn’t miss. That is if you’re into gently lilting folk melodies or bluesy stompers, brimming with warmth and wit as much as they are with a sad nostalgic air.

Tickets are available now. (Over 18s) RSVP via Facebook. Check out more dates here.

Jaga Jazzist @ The Barbican, London 16/06

The Ninja Tune signed Norwegian 10-piece collective deliver their sonically diverse, mini-master pieces with a fluidity and vitality that is hard to come by these days. Straddling every genre from jazz to post-rock, their densely textured experimentalism will be nothing less than epic at The Barbican Hall this week.

Best Coast @ The Ritz, Manchester 17/06

Finding yourself forgetting that it is actually summer time? A trip to see Californian surf-pop duo Best Coast and their summery, jangly guitar driven offerings should clear that right up. Or make you exceedingly jealous of their sun soaked frolics. That is a risk entirely yours to run.

Tickets are available now. RSVP via Facebook. Check out more dates here.

Haim @ Dingwalls, London 18/06

Whether you have already fallen utterly head over heals for their tight, minimal 80s rhythms and Fleetwood Mac references or remain unconvinced by their slightly flat recordings, Haim’s show at Dingwalls is not to be missed. The LA sister trio really know what they’re doing when it comes to a live show; expect deafening drum solos, incredible virtuoso guitar displays, a fiesty attitude, candid on-stage banter and to feel like you’ve drank as much whisky as they probably have by the end.

Sold Out. RSVP via Facebook. Check out more dates here.

Bloc Party @ The Garage, Glasgow 19/06

With their fourth record, aptly titled Four, due out in August via Frenchkiss Records, Bloc Party are playing a string of what we can only assume are warm up dates this week, offering you the chance to possibly hear some of the new material they’ve been teasing us all with for months!

Sold Out. RSVP via Facebook. Check out more dates here.

Cold Specks @ Hoxton Hall, London 20/06

There is nothing quite like a voice that cuts straight to the heart of a song. Cold Specks, aka Canadian songstress Al spx, is in possession of one such voice: soulful, soft and slightly gravely her lyrics and delivered with conviction over heartbreaking, delicately composed harmonies.

Tickets are available now. RSVP via Facebook. Check out more dates here.

Jack White @ Brixton Academy, London 21/06

With so many incredible gigs happening across the country each week, we do try and avoid repeating ourselves but we’ve made an exception for Jack White. Why you may ask? Well because he is a genuine maverick, an incredible artist and this will undoubtedly be one of the best shows of the week.

Sold Out. RSVP via Facebook. Check out more dates here.
