Welcome to our weekly round-up of what’s happening in the grand concert halls, dimly lit basements, airy cafe’s and grimy sweatboxes across the UK. All acts featured come with the Best Fit ‘Seal Of Approval’ so you can be assured that your hard earned cash will be well spent. To tempt your wallets this week, we’ve gathered dates from the likes of Lower Dens, Perfume Genius and Icona Pop.

Loney Dear @ Norwegian Church Arts Centre, Cardiff 11/05

Effusive and charming, Loney Dear man Erin Svanängen’s performances are a real treat, often flitting between the delicate isolation of a solo effort and the stirring fully fleshed assemblage of his band.

Tickets are on sale now. RSVP via Facebook. Check out more dates here.

Willis Earl Beal and PINS @ Hare & Hounds, Birmingham 13/05

From leaving sketches, CDs and his phone number lying around Chicago to landing a deal with XL Recordings, Willis Earl Beal, helped by the release of his debut album Acousmatic Sorcery, has reached stratospheric highs in a matter of months so now is the time to see what all the fuss has been about. Oh and did we mention support comes from our latest obsession PINS? If you live in Birmingham, you now officially have no excuse not to go to this show.

Tickets are on sale now. RSVP via Facebook. Check out more Willis Earl Beal dates here and more PINS dates here.

Lower Dens @ The Hope, Brighton 14/05

Our favourite Baltimore four-piece just dropped their second full length effort Nootropics. All haunting atmospherics, ghostly synths and hypnagogic rhythms it’s a captivating listen, we can only assume their live show will promise much of the same.

Tickets are on sale now. RSVP via Facebook. Check out more dates here.

Perfume Genius @ St Pancras Old Church, London 14/05

If you can only manage to face the wind and rain just once this week we wouldn’t blame you if it was for this show. Mike Hadreas is just the most spellbinding live performer. You will not regret it, unless you forget to bring tissues.

This show is sold out. RSVP via Facebook. Check out more dates here.

Dante and Icona Pop @ Electricity Showrooms, London 15/05

Yes it’s our very own night but it will be really great, we promise you. We have an incredible Swedish double bill for you with the electronic efforts of Dante Kinnunen and the irresistible pop of Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawowith while support will come from Finnish band Zebra and Snake.

Tickets are on sale now. RSVP via Facebook. Check out more Dante dates here and more Icona Pop dates here.

Niki & The Dove and Elliphant @ XOYO, London 16/05

We know it. You know it. Niki & The Dove are bloody great. The number of live drummers they’ll turn up with anyone’s guess but whatever the percussion levels, we’re pretty confident tonight will be fantastic.

Tickets are on sale now. RSVP via Facebook. Check out more Niki & The Dove dates here and more Elliphant dates here.

The Cribs @ Theatre Royal, Wakefield 16/05

Back in their home town courtesy of Jack Daniel’s The Cribs will be treating a lucky few to an intimate performance of material from their new album In the Belly of the Brazen Bull.

Tickets are no longer available for this event. RSVP via Facebook. Check out more dates here.

Sharon Van Etten @ The Deaf Institute, Manchester 17/05

Those of you have been following Sharon Van Etten’s career since the days of Because I Was In Love will be aware how much the New Jersey native has developed as an artist over the past few years and with songs from recent full length Tramp now successfully integrated into her live arsenal tonight will be breath taking. Support comes from Exitmusic.
