Wiley in legal trouble with Cumbria's Cockrock Festival after 15 minute set
Cumbria’s Cockermouth Rock festival are seeking legal advice following Wiley, well, “doing another Wiley” over the weekend.
The grime MC, known for his hatred of weekenders on farms, was booed off stage after preceding the set with a series of antagonising tweets about not wanting to be there. After being pelted with beer cans, Wiley thought enough was enough and headed off. You can watch that incident below.
Cockrock Festival, however, now feel they didn’t get value for money – reportedly having paid him £1000 up front for every minute he actually played.
Festival organizer Marie Whitehead released the following statement on the matter:
“We are dealing with 250 contracts for the event, so I’m not sure what the position is but we will be getting legal advice on what happened. It is very disappointing as it would appear he did not fulfil his contract and was supposed to play for 45 minutes.”
Meanwhile, one festival Wiley did appear to enjoy over the weekend was Lovebox. Read about that here.
