Almost a month ago we premiered the debut single from Montréal-based drummer and indie vet Iris Campo.

We described it as "an addictive, heart-warming '70s pop belter laced with slappy, slippery bass grooves, modern synthpop melodies and the fizzing coo of Campo's Haim-esque vox. There are plenty of emotional depths to be discovered in her subtle funkitude. It's a track that warrants at least three immediate replays: one for the funk, one for the feelings, and one for that white-hot guitar solo."

We stand by that.

As far as pop goes, it doesn't get much more impressive than this. To match the calibre of the tune itself, Iris has gunned for simplicity as opposed to some complex narrative or cinematic saga. The clip is doused in pinks and turquoises, and while not much happens, team Sebastien Duguay (director), John Londono (cinematography) and Cult Nation (producer) ensure that it's still riveting and your eyes are glued to the action.

Speaking about the visuals, Iris says:

"We originally intended to make a nice simple lyric video to support the single. But when I showed up on set and saw the wonderful team that we had and the iconic Panasonic anamorphic B series lenses, I knew we would have an awesome video. Way more than what we anticipated. The whole video was pretty much improvised on set. I just felt the song and went with the flow. It was important to me to have the viewer feel the song through my emotions and my body language rather than having a storyline and acting. This music video is simple, visually beautiful, spontaneous and real."
