The Twilight Sad to release EP in June

24th April 2008

TLOBF favourites The Twilight Sad will return with a new EP titled Here, It Never Snowed. Afterwards It Did. Released on the 9th of June, the EP reworks 4 tracks previously released, a cut originally intended for their debut, and a Daniel Johnston cover. The new release will only be available on 12 inch or as a digital download, released by their label Fat Cat Records

”We wanted to record re-worked versions of some songs from Fourteen Autumns and Fifteen Winters as we felt there was another side to some of them that worked just as well as the originals,” guitarist Andy MacFarlane has said of the EP. “The idea came about from playing certain gigs or sessions with a more basic lineup of just fan organ, glockenspiel and percussion. We developed that sound in the recordings by plugging the fan organ through effects, adding guitars, drones, violins and experimenting with the alternate sound.”

Tracklist:
1 – And She Would Darken the Memory
2 – Cold Days from The Birdhouse
3 – Here, It Never Snowed. Afterwards It Did.
4 – Mapped by What Surrounded Them
5 – Walking for Two Hours
6 – Some Things Last a Long Time (Daniel Johnston cover)
