Mercury imprint Vertigo have recently signed up The Envy Corps, a 4-piece outfit hailing from Aimes, Iowa. Coming across like the love child of Death Cab For Cutie and Arcade Fire these guys are set for big things with the release of brand new single Rhinemaidens (out September 3rd) with a new album Dwell released soon after.
The band originally formed in 2001, but with several line-up changes later it wasn’t until 2004 that they released their debut album Soviet Reunion (Bi-Fi Records) followed by the 2006 EP I Will Write You Love Letter If You Tell Me To. After being snapped up by Vertigo in March of this year the band have spent a fair bit of time over here in the UK building up a substantial fanbase. And what’s more, they’re back for a residency at The Water Rats at Kings Cross, London over the next couple of months. The dates are: 30th July and 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th August.
