Saint Etienne to headline The Apple Cart Festival
After last year’s false start – The Apple Cart Festival today has announced that it will most certainly take place in 2011 after being cancelled last year. Saint Etienne, original headliners from 2010 will honour their appearance and will be joined by Soul II Soul, The Magic Numbers, Badly Drawn Boy, Steve Mason, James Yorkston and Chilly Gonzales. Comedian Tim Minchin will also make an appearance.
Tom Baker of Eat Your Own Ears and Marcus Weedon (two of the partners behind London’s Field Day and the Underage Festival) have teamed up with Off The Kerb’s Laughing Boy Comedy Club, members of The Magic Circle, Turner Winning artists Gavin Turk and Deborah Curtis’ The House Of Fairy Tales and The London Word Festival to bring this new addition to the UK festival calendar.
The event will take place on Sunday, August 7 at London’s Victoria Park. Early bird tickets are available now and priced at £25 whilst kids under 14s get in free. More info and ticket details available via the official Apple Cart Festival website.
The site will be dressed in irreverent style and will feature high-end catering from cherry picked traders from London’s best markets; Borough, Broadway and Venn Street market.
