Rough Trade experience 25% sales growth in 2013

UK independent music retailer, Rough Trade have announced a growth of 25% in sales during the first quarter of 2013.
The company, which currently has two stores in London (the original shop in Notting Hill and their Rough Trade East outlet on Brick Lane), are set to open a new branch of the brand in the Williamsburg area of New York by the year’s end. It’s said to be double the size of Rough Trade East.
Music Week report the news, adding that the company have achieved double-figure growth ever since RTE opened in 2007.
It also follows on from overall UK album sales figures showing an increase for the first time since 2009.
