News reaches us that the eagerly awaited new Neko Case album Middle Cyclone will be released on Monday 2nd March. The fifteen-track album is Case’s first release since 2006′s highly acclaimed Fox Confessor Brings The Flood.
Middle Cyclone was produced by Case with Darryl Neudorf and recorded in Tucson, Brooklyn, Toronto, and Vermont. It features Case backed by her band – guitarist Paul Rigby, bassist Tom V. Ray, backing vocalist Kelly Hogan, multi-instrumentalist Jon Rauhouse, and drummer Barry Mirochnick – along with numerous guests including M. Ward, Garth Hudson, Sarah Harmer, and members of The New Pornographers, Los Lobos, Calexico, The Sadies, Visqueen, The Lilys, and Giant Sand. In addition to twelve new songs written by Case, Middle Cyclone includes covers of ‘Never Turn Your Back on Mother Earth’ by Sparks, and ‘Don’t Forget Me’ by Harry Nilsson.

Great voice, never got to like anything other than the odd track on Fox Confessor though. Hopefully better this time around.

I’ve seen her live (Hardly Strictly in SF) :-) and got the album afterwards but for me it was a bit of a let down. Still positive towards her though so, like I said, want to like the next one.
