Moby & Mark Lanegan to release collaborative single for Record Store Day
As unlikely as it might seem, 90s ambient-electro pioneer Moby and alt-rock legend Mark Lanegan are set to team up, and we have Record Store Day to thank for it.
This year’s Record Store Day takes place on 20 April, with a whole host of special releases scheduled to mobilise fans to their local shops.
And one of the most recent releases to be announced is this upcoming single from the pair, ‘Lonely Night’ to be released on Moby’s own Little Idiot label. The b-side to the release will see Photek take up remixing duties.
Moby had the following to say of the joint project.
“I’ve been a fan of Mark’s from his early SST records days, and I’ve always wanted to work with him. He has one of the best and most distinctive voices of the last 25 years. Now that we live near each other it ended up being really easy working on a song together.”
