The Mercury Prize have announced a number of changes for this year’s awards, including a move to London’s Roundhouse.
The annual ceremonial event will take place in the Camden venue, after deciding to depart from the normal setting of the Grosvenor Hotel. Also announced is that the awards will also occur later in the year, during the month of November instead of September as it had been held in previous years.
September, however, will see the Albums of the Year Launch Party hosted by The Hospital Club in Covent Garden. There will also be a series of ‘Albums of the Year Live’ events throughout October at exclusive venues across London. All of the shortlisted artists will be invited to the intimate events, with tickets made available to fans through ticket competitions.
Last year, the Mercury Music Prize was won by PJ Harvey for her album Let England Shake.
