Jay-Z's “surprise” Times Square concert confirmed, new lyrics revealed
As previously reported, rapper Jay-Z has been planning a special performance from the marquee of the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York’s Times Square, otherwise known as where the Letterman show is filmed from. He wanted it to be a big surprise, but of course the internet has ruined all that.
Rap Radar, among other sources, confirm that NYC Mayor Bloomberg has given the concert the go-ahead after safety and congestion concerns. It’ll take place on 8 July, following the release of Magna Carta Holy Grail four days prior.
As well as this, Jay has also previewed the lyrics for ‘Jay Z Blue (Daddy Dearest)’, ‘Versus’ and ‘BBC’, the latter featuring an all-star guest cast of Nas, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, Pharrell Williams, Timbaland and Swizz Beats. You can check those out beneath.
Jay-Z also yesterday unveiled four video interviews where he discusses some of the album tracks.
