The rather majestic folk leanings of House of Brothers (aka, solo artist Andrew Jackson) that have been dazzling audiences up and down the UK on recent stints with TLOBF faves Loney Dear, Howling Bells and Blonde Redhead are finally getting around to releasing a debut EP. Deadman will be released on November 26th via Big Scary Monsters records.
The songs previewing over on HoB’s myspace page are a million miles away from the post-hardcore throttlings of Jackson’s previous band The Murder of Rosa Luxemburg. He’s not the first artist to hope over to swap hardcore for folk either; Frank Turner (ex-Million Dead) released excellent album Sleep Is For The Week earlier this year to a whole heap of critical praise. I digress… you can download the title track from the House Of Brothers EP in the link below, and if suitably impressed, catch him live over the next week or two when he supports Youthmovies and Ed Harcourt. Dates are as follows:
October
09 – Norwich, The Queen Charlotte (w/ Youthmovies, Adam Gnade)
10 – Cambridge, The Graduate (w/ Youthmovies, Adam Gnade)
11 – Kingston, The Works (w/ Youthmovies, Adam Gnade)
12 – Tunbridge Wells, The Forum (w/ Youthmovies, Adam Gnade)
13 – Oxford, Jericho Tavern
15 – Nottingham, Rescue Rooms (w/ Ed Harcourt)
