Young Fathers, Gilles Peterson, Haiku Salut, and more to play Farmfest 2016

10 February 2016, 12:30 | Written by Ben Curtis

Former Mercury prize winners Young Fathers are amongst the first names revealed to play at Farmfest 2016. Joining them at the weekend event in Bruton, Somerset will be Gilles Peterson, GoGo Penguin, and a raft of other musicians and DJs.

From its humble beginnings in 2006, Farmfest has expanded from a capacity of 400 to its current capacity of 5000. This year, its eleventh edition, it is set to welcome a broader and more expansive range of acts.

Joining Young Fathers, Gilles Peterson, and GoGo Penguin will be '90s big beat protagonists Bentley Rhythm Ace. For something a little smoother, New Orleans' legendary jazz outfit, and key exponents of big brass jazz, The Hot 8 Brass Band will merge classic covers with some funky fresh original songs.

With more acts still to be revealed, Haiku Salut, Shilpa Ray, Rachael Dadd and Plastic Mermaids are just some of the other stand-out names included in the line-up.

Festival goers will also be treated to a program of theatre, art workshops, and a Comedy and Spoken Word tent.
