TLOBF have been singing the praises of Esben and The Witch and what we called their “Nightmare Pop” since they first saw them in Brighton earlier this year. Since then they’ve played just a select handful of shows with the likes of The XX, Deerhunter, Sian Alice Group and a moodily brilliant performance at End of The Road Festival. Now the band have announced their debut single as part of the Too Pure Singles Club on February 8th 2010. Entitled “Lucia, At The Precipice”, it will be available as a limited run of 500. To celebrate the release the band have made their debut self-released E.P available for free. You can download it now from www.esbenandthewitch.co.uk
The band have also announced a number of forthcoming dates, including their first full UK headline tour:
December 2009
16th – Cargo, London (End of the Road Christmas Party w/ Joe Giddeon and the Shark and Josh T Pearson)
January 2010
5th – White Heat @ Madame JoJos, London
February 2010
5th – Hobby Horse, London
7th – The Prince Albert, Brighton
10th – The Harley, Sheffield
11th – The Deaf Institute, Manchester
12th – Library, Lancaster
13th – The Jericho, Oxford

As if the EP is free now! I’ve only just paid for it…
Still, top-drawer stuff though.
Awesome live! Love all the owls. I’m all about the library core bands.
Fantastic new band. Can’t wait to hear more from them next year!
