If you’re brave enough to drag yourselves away from the Hollyoaks omnibus and brave the cold this coming Sunday (11th January), you’ll be able to catch The Leisure Society and Emmy The Great perform a small set. Both acts are booked to film a ‘Bandstand Busking’ session which will take place at Northampton Square bandstand in Islington at 12 noon. Click here for directions.
So what is Bandstand Busking? Well, it’s kinda like Blackcab Sessions and Takeaway Shows. You know the deal – a ridiculously hip indie band gets asked to perform a few songs in weird and wonderful locations – and in this instance it’s at a…yeah, you’ve guessed it. They have some fantastic videos up on the site at the moment including The Wave Pictures, The Acorn, Frightened Rabbit and Asobi Seksu. This coming Monday (12th Jan) a Loney Dear session will go live featuring members of The Leisure Society and a certain TLOBF-er playing in the band. Eek.
