Long Island hip-hop trio, De La Soul are prepping a new single and video release, the last of which coming a whole nine years back.
The legendary alt-rap troupe have revealed to Rolling Stone that they are also thinking of releasing a new singles collection, citing differences in the modern music market as inspiration for the decision.
The band’s DJ, Maseo told the publication:
“I think putting out those singles would be more impressionable than dropping an album at this present day in music. It’s about trying to just creatively have a bunch of songs in the stable. You have to consider a lot from the administrative standpoint in the release of a project. I see the song that we’re putting out being the perfect B-side – with a video this time.”
The group will also play London’s Forum on 8 May.
