Dark Night of the Soul = blank CD

By ,

Due to an “ongoing dispute with EMI” the mouth-watering project from Danger Mouse, Sparklehorse and David Lynch is set to be unreleased.

Danger Mouse, in his statement, cryptically stated he wished “people lucky enough to hear the music, by whatever means, are as excited by it as he is”.

So expect some kind of leak to whiz around the internet shortly. If this is canned indefinitely, it’s going to rob us of an intriguing release.

More info as and when we get it…

Duh the leak has only been out for a week or more already.

Wonder if that has anything to do with the legal problems?

    Oh yeah!
Just had listen on NPR – not that impressed. I don’t rate Danger Mouse or Sparklehorse particularly but I’d still have that blank CD and the Lynch photos.

If your not a fan of either one fair enough. I for one think it is a huge travesty that it is not released. It is an amazing album (except for the iggy pop song that really sucks) but the rest is quite sublime. I am glad it has leaked people need to be able to hear this great album. i have listened to it a few times now. I wish I had the cash to get the book etc. The songs with david lynch singing on are great. I am just wondering what the legal dispute is over. Sampling? It would be kool if we got the whole story. But at least I have heard the music.
