It’s nice to be able to celebrate our 400th Song Of The Day with an artist of whom we are particularly fond.
‘Ebb’ is a new departure for Berlin-via-Hampshire producer Seams. His previous few releases have been edging closer to the centre of the dancefloor – a pattern than culminated with the Holden-esque ‘Focus Energy’, one of the best tracks of 2011. ‘Ebb’, though, is a lighter-than-air flutter across two chords, pieced together from processed clips of antique Edison cylinder recordings. Not a kick drum in sight.
