London producer Desert Sound Colony returns with lead single "Cracks In My Soul"
After the release of his debut EP The Way I Began in October, London producer Desert Sound Colony has been quiet through the winter, but he returns just in time for spring with "Cracks In My Soul".
"Cracks In My Soul" is a meditation on life, love, and getting older with a mantra of looping guitar drenched in reverb and delay--imagine Campfire Headphase-era Boards of Canada with The Edge's pedalboard. Every other element is built around the guitar: the bass dances between loops, adding a subtle second level of melodic structure and providing rhythmic counterpoints to the steady shake of the accompanying percussion. There's no need to fear a sophomore slump here.
The EP will be released 27 April via Scissor & Thread.
