Even his biggest fans must admit that the beauty and wonder surrounding Willis Earl Beal owes a heck of a lot to the ideas and story behind the singer than the songs he actually produces himself.
His debut album was somewhat disappointing on the surface of things, but the interest surrounding him remains. In this session shot by the good folk at Yours Truly, Beal sings down the phone to a fan and plays guitar with a toothpick whilst in his grandma’s house. The resulting vid is sublime and shows why he’s an act to experience rather than merely listen to.
