London appears to be in the middle of a heatwave. I have just been to the park by my flat, and there are grown men with no shirts on. I didn’t know where to look.
The timing couldn’t be better, then, for Shells to release the Pastels EP. Shells’ work is the ultimate sunshine soundtrack; microscopically delicate compositions in a vaguely Hebden-like mould. The title track is probably his best yet, complete with a fantastic drop about half way through.
