Antwerp – Permanent State EP [Best Fit Premiere]
London-based Genoa-born producer Antwerp is set to release his second EP, following last year’s rousing self-titled effort.
Opening and sort of title-track ‘A Permanent State of Jet Lag’ is a Gold Panda-esque, orientally-infused skitty number, the kind of track you want coming into your ears while flying over some vast stretch of land that you can really work out what country it belongs to. Meanwhile, ‘Erin’ continues the sprawling chilled-out vibe before ‘Haab’ well and truly shakes things up good and proper, sounding like an aural clash of 8-bit jingles – kinda like standing in the middle of an arcade and hearing all the games’ themes all in unison. ‘Light Beyond the Atmopshere’ gently brings us to a close with a soothing array of chimes and faint guitar plucks.
