The Envy Corps. Remember their name. These guys are gonna be huge this year, mark my words. Hailing from Ames, Iowa the four piece were snapped up by Vertigo records in March and are preparing to release their new single Rhinemaidens on October 9th, with a full length (their second) to follow shortly after. Last week saw trauma hit the band as guitarist Brandon Darner suffered a stroke minutes before going on stage at a show in London, he is recovering well and should be back out on the road soon. We caught up with the guys a few weeks back to pitch are enticing 20 Questions to them. Who would have thought they’d have a soft spot for Euro Disney, Pilates and Motley Crue? Just don’t piss them off as they might feel the need to relieve themselves in your gas tank….

Investigative, jejune, F# minor
2. What would be your ideal holiday?
EuroDisney…hands down.
3. Whats the best cure for a hangover?
Cocaine, or, uh, so I heard.
4. What’s on your rider?
10 pairs of black dress socks and a minimum 2 hours with a mobile petting zoo.
5. How do you get ready for a live show?
Pilates.
6. Favourite song to play live?
Dr. Feelgood by Motley Crue.
7. When was the last time you told a lie?
Question five.
8. Who would win in a fight, a stoat or a goat and why?
“Stoat” must be another British word I don’t know, so I’ll put money on the goat.
9. What was the last album you bought?
The Reminder by Feist.
10. If you could rid the world of one song – what would it be?
Any song by Foals.
11. Who would play you in a film based upon your life?

14. What’s your most memorable on the road story?
We’re generally pretty easygoing, but once the frontman of the band we were opening for was being a complete jerk, talking down to us and demanding more beers like we were his road crew or something. During his set went out back and peed into beer bottles and poured them into his gas tank.

17. Are you a morning bird or a night fox?
I think the phrase is “night owl”.
18. If you could travel back in time where would you set the dial?
2002, so I could go to the Salt Lake City Olympics. I really wanted to, but my stupid brother got Hodgkins instead. He even had the good Hodgkins, so we probably could have gone anyway, but we didn’t.
19. What three things could you not live without?
My Apple Mac, sugar-free Red Bull and my girlfriend (last but not least, honey).
20. Tell us a fact about yourself we probably don’t already know.
We all met at auditions for a Christian death metal group called Obstacle Corpse.
