Realistically, this could well be a lost nugget from the heady days of Ibizia in the nineties – all sun-kissed and doe eyed. We approve. Check out the new project from Dreamtrak and Internet Forever inside.
About Richard Thane

Watch: Loney Dear – Violent (Best Fit Session)
The perfect juxtaposition of lovelorn lyrics and melodic purity – Emil Svanängen strips his 2009 classic ‘Violent’ its bear bones – extending it to a lengthy 8 minutes, the complex chord progression swapped in favour of percussive guitar and gentle pipe organ accompaniment triggered by a mass of floor pedals.

Listen: Niki & The Dove – DJ, Ease My Mind (Jakwob Remix)
Jakwob morps the track into a brooding beast – stripped of its anthemic Eurovision-esque vibe, the listener is transported to a deep dark cathedral of dub.

Josh T. Pearson, Beth Jeans Houghton and Gilles Peterson added to The Apple Cart line-up
Adam Ant, Josh T. Pearson, Inner City, Beth Jeans Houghton, Gilles Peterson and Scritti Politti are just some of the names added to The Apple Cart Festival bill this morning.

Watch: Friends – Friend Crush (Live PSL Session)
As we’re all sitting at HQ right now salivating over tonight’s sold-out performance at London’s Lexington, we thought we’d share the excitement by posting up this sexay performance of fan favourite ‘Friend Crush’.

Listen: Citizens! – Reptile (Goldroom Remix)
Goldroom return with this lean re-work of London based newcomers Citizens! who, on their own merit, have been impressing us for a good while now with their charity shop chic and bedsit pop nuggets.

Watch: Niki and the Dove – Live on Channel 4
Featuring candid interviews with Malin and Gustaf along with live performances of ‘Mother Protect’ and ‘DJ, Ease My Mind’, the program is now available to stream over on the Channel 4OD website.

Listen: Jonathan Johannson x Dante – Centrum
Continuing his ascent of becoming the “remix go to guy of choice” for the Swedish pop community. Tackling Jonathan Johansson’s ‘Centrum’, it’s thrilling to follow Dante’s continued ability to carve his familiar sonic pallet of warm, analogue synths and textures to form crisp golden nuggets of joy.

Watch: Fanzine – My Stupid Brain (Live)
Their trailer-trash chic image, projecting a ‘couldn’t give a damn’ slacker vibe may rub off on their production ethics, but Fanzine’s inherent songcraft and musical ability is second to none. Well on their way to becoming one of our favourite live bands in the country – this video goes some way to explaining why.

Listen: Django Django x The Horrors – Default
Tom Furse of The Horrors plasters a gauzy sonic cloud over Django Django’s current single ‘Default’. He swaps the twangy bounce of the original for a more ‘full on’ assault without losing any of the glorious sing-a-long pop hooks. Good work Tom Furse.

Watch: Amanda Mair – Sense
The new video from pop siren Amanda Mair sees a slight homage to Bob Dylan’s ‘Subterranean Homesick Blues’ – swapping the side street of London’s Savoy Hotel for the wintery forests of Sweden, naturally.

I Break Horses confirm new London show
Responsible for our number 1 album of 2011 with Hearts, I Break Horses return to the UK on April 1 for a show at London’s Scala – their biggest headline appearance to date.

Watch: Philco Fiction – Portrait Of Silence (NFOP Session)
A highlight of last week’s stunning set at our Nordic club night Ja Ja Ja, Philco Fiction’s ‘Portrait Of Silence’ has “future classic” written all over it. Our buddies over at No Fear Of Pop recently filmed this beautifully shot session with the Norwegian trio.

Listen: Noonie Bao x Dante – About To Tell
Dante (responsible for one of the greatest pop moments of 2011 with his Adele mash-up ‘Won’t Go’) has given Noonie Bao’s skeletal ‘About To Tell’ a once over and turned it into a slow burning electro journey. Both the original and remix being essential listens. Check them out inside.

Listen: Wild Nothing – Nowhere
The first fruits of being exposed to a live studio environment rather than his bedroom, ‘Nowhere’ sees Jack Tatum and his Wild Nothing moniker grasp a more refined and ‘finished’ sound than that of the glorious lo-fi wonderment found on 2010 debut Gemini.

Album Stream: Chuck Prophet – Temple Beautiful [World Exclusive]
His most focused and concise work in years, Prophet’s twelfth studio album is ultimately an open love letter to San Francisco – filled with gut wrenching guitar licks, classic Dylan-esque phrasing and gorgeous analogue production. A return to form, some would say.
