After their rather lovely album AZAR, which was released last year, the Athens, Georgia five-piece Venice Is Sinking have been busy working on a follow-up. But no ordinary follow-up…
The bands third full length, Sand & Lines, is a document of the sound of a beautiful space that no longer exists: 10 songs, presented in order, recorded live at the now-defunct Georgia Theatre using only two mics.
It’s set for a June release date and is the culmination of a marathon four day session on stage at Athens, Georgia’s historic Georgia Theatre, which was destroyed by a fire in June of 2009.
