SOTD #22 // Kisses: ‘Bermuda’

As we’ve come to expect with this kind of dreamy loveliness, the details on Kisses are as blurred as the words of a handwritten letter thrown into the ocean. We don’t know what they’re called, just that they come from “Lost Angeles” and that they’re inspired by “Girls Gone Oscar Wilde,” which sounds like just about the most literary porno we’ve never seen. Honest ma. What we do know, however, is that even on first listen to “Bermuda”, there was never any question that they wouldn’t become a bona fide TLOBF obsession.

The vocals don’t sound dissimilar to a certain Mr Jens Lekman, and the saccharine reverb pastel hues of their MySpace artwork aren’t a million miles away from some other Swedish underbarns, Lake Heartbeat. Add in the fact that those great gents over at Transparent will be putting out their first single and you’ve pretty much got a TLOBF orgasm right there.

Far from it be for us to recommend such behaviour, but there’s a fine album of theirs floating around the inter-ether…

I have been, fittingly, listening to this song all day. Such a tune, must investigate this band further post-haste.
