This is in equal parts fantastic and utterly hilarious. Shane MacGowan has gone down the charity single route and pulled in some of his mates to record a cover of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins 1956 hit “I Put A Spell On You”. Featuring his rather distinctive vocal talents, he’s also roped in Johnny Depp, Nick Cave, Bobby Gillespie, Paloma Faith, Eliza Doolittle, Mick Jones and Chrissie Hynde too.
“I Put A Spell On You” will be available from IRL Records on download only via pre-ordering the single by clicking here. Or text SPELL (all in capitals) to 78789 (the text cost £1.50). All proceeds will go to Concern Worldwide’s work in Haiti.

Oh well this is just hideous, isn’t it?
I had to watch this because I didn’t believe it was real, and now I can never unsee it…
I feel sorry for anybody who finds this to be funny, or “hilarious”. I’m sure you all prefer Simon Cowells shit single. You obvoiusly don’t have any musical sense, what so ever… It’s a shame.
you obviously can’t spell obviously.
and i found it funny because shane macgowan’s vocal makes me laugh. that ok with you, punchy?
How can anyone not see this video as nothing short of Genius? The problem is most younger people (and I am only 30) have grown accustomed to the garbage that has been rammed down our throats for the past twenty year, and they don’t know what true musical genius sounds like. Nick Cave, Chrissie Hynde, Bobby Gillespie, Mick Jones, and yes even Shane MacGowan are brilliant in this. If only Screamin Jay Hawkins would have done it half this good. Can’t stop listening to it.
