The identities of one of our biggest musical crushes of recent months have been blown. The intrepid reporters at the aptly named Stool Pigeon have printed that Summer Camp are not, as initially claimed, a group of seven Swedish friends who met at one such childhood camp establishment (who believed that anyway, eh?!) and in fact are Transgressive troubadour Jeremy Warmsley and Elizabeth Sankey, one of the editors of Platform. The band are yet to comment on the article.
As previously reported by the Guardian, Summer Camp will release their first single on Moshi Moshi in March, before heading off to play SXSW. Although the mystery game was fun and all, we at TLOBF are kinda relieved that it’s all out in the open now so that everyone can start focusing on the truly important business at hand here – their incredible songs! Relive the wonderfulness with their most recent free download, ‘Was It Worth It’, below.

my favourite part about all this was when a certain independent record label worker asked me if the singer was LAURA SNAPES. you know who you are mr record label man :D
One day I will sing for you and you will understand the lunacy of that claim :)
@Rich Thane // Was it Toby/Tim Transgressive?
nope
Oh blast.
That’d have been really funny.
But Sankey, crumbs. One of her staff wrote about them/her here. Wonder if he knew…

wasnt me.
I have two songs by these, and I’m sure I got them through Jeremy Warmsley and his Twitter account stating that it was a side-project of his. So no real surprise this end.
He definitely hadn’t mentioned it before…
Pretty sure he did. May have been a while back, he definitely talked about a side-project, linked to two free downloads and I think it was this.
I must admit, now Jake’s mentioned it, I have a vague recollection of this too…
No, that was a download for another of his bands – Acres Acres. Trust me, I’m a huge Warmsley fan!
