Jim O’Rourke works on Burt Bacharach tribute album

We love “Big” Jim O’Rourke round here, so any excuse to post some news and a picture about the great man is fine by us…

He’s been busy of late preparing a tribute album to Burt Bacharach. Due in April, it will be called All Kinds of People and O’Rourke plays many instruments (guitar, keyboards, bass) and produced the covers album, while Wilco’s Glenn Kotche handled drums. Also involved are Thurston Moore and Boredom’s Yoshimi.

O’Rourke will perform selections from the album alongside some of its other artists a week before release in Japan where O’Rourke’s currently residing.

01 “Close To You” (Haruomi Hosono)
02 “Always Something There To Remind Me” (Thurston Moore)
03 “Anonymous Phone Call” (Jim O’Rourke)
04 “After The Fox” (Akira Sakata, Masaya Nakahara)
05 “You’ll Never Get To Heaven” (Aoyama Youiti)
06 “Do You Know The Way To San Jose” (Kahimi Karie)
07 “Don’t Make Me Over” (Kosaka Tadashi, Jim O’Rourke)
08 “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ On My Head” (Koike Mitsuko)
09 “I Say A Little Prayer” (Yoshimi)
10 “Trains And Boats And Planes” (Jim O’Rourke)
11 “Walk On By” (Donna Taylor)
