Devo to perform at 2010 Winter Olympic Games, release new album!

Devo, one of the world’s most visionary and influential bands, have been invited to perform live at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver on February 22nd This performance will conclude a Victory Ceremony and will be broadcast live. The festival also includes Feist and, er, Usher… nice.

This is impressive timing as the band are readying their first studio album in nearly 20 years. They’ve signed an apparently “ground-breaking worldwide partnership” with their original label Warner Bros… whatever that means.

Original members Gerald Casale, Bob Casale, Mark Mothersbaugh, and Bob Mothersbaugh are joined by drummer Josh Freese (Nine Inch Nails, Weezer, Guns N’ Roses).

Stay tuned to www.clubdevo.com for more Devo, news, tour dates etc.

so there have been gigs for the last 4 years celebrating the cultural olympiad in Vancouver. They will also be getting shows from the likes of Wilco, Feist and have already had BSS.

So what have the UK had? Heather Small and Will Young.

    I’m crying inside
