Polly Scattergood – Bunny Club (Remixed by Tara Busch)
We all know and have warmed to Polly’s distinctive female singer/songwriter charms this year, whilst Tara Busch’s remix credits include Tori Amos, Annie Lennox, Bat For Lashes and Polly Scattergood’s “Nitrogen Pink”. Busch is renowned for the use of classic analogue synthesizers and beautiful backing vocal arrangements in the style of 1940’s Disney movies and Pet Sounds – era Beach Boys.
Says Tara of the remix:
“I felt we could build a sort of sonic funhouse for Polly Scattergood’s ‘Bunny Club’, painting an alternate world inspired by the drama of ’70′s disco, sugary sweet, Disney inspired backing vocals atop crunchy electronic drums, vocoded vocals & a bass line that can only be described as ‘what rubber popcorn might sound like when it pops’….all the while retaining the dark undercurrent.”
