Wordless Music NYC confirm amazing line-up for Fall shows

Wordless Music, the wonderful series of shows in NYC, have confirmed the line-up for their Fall shows… and it really is an impressive set of events.

Now into its fourth season, the 2009 fall calendar will feature performances from, deep breath, Broadcast, Why?, Destroyer and Loscil (a rare collaborative set), Do Make Say Think, No Age, Chris Clark, Múm, Deerhoof, Tim Hecker, Flying Lotus, Battles, Martyn, Micachu & The Shapes, !!!, Murcof, Grouper, Mount Eerie, Rachel Grimes (of Rachel’s), Atlas Sound, Julianna Barwick, Wildbirds & Peacedrums, Hudson Mohawke, Sam Amidon, Doveman, and more. Also appearing will be classical and new-music artists including Sarah Cahill, Francesco Tristano Schlimé, Nico Muhly, the JACK Quartet, Flexible Music, and Owen Weaver performing the music of Bach, Frescobaldi, Buxtehude, Orlando Gibbons, Wagner, G. I. Gurdjieff and Thomas de Hartmann, Iannis Xenakis, Louis Andriessen, David Lang, Javier Alvarez, and Charles Spearin. Phew!

They’re also putting on a special NYC show to help celebrate Warp Records 20th anniversary. On September 3-6, in venues across New York City, Warp artists Battles, Flying Lotus, Chris Clark, !!!, Pivot, and Hudson Mohawke will headline shows while The New Museum offers free and continuous screenings of full-length features, documentaries, music videos, and shorts from several dozen directors hailing from around the globe.

    Yup – they did a set, as a duo, as the “band” for Atlas Sound at ATP last year…
