The full programme for the original UK folk festival has just been released.

Now in its 54th year, Sidmouth Folk Week features over 500 concerts, dances and workshops, and this year boasts its most award winning lineup ever.

Between 31st July and 7th August, this beautiful Regency seaside town in Devon will play host to some of the most acclaimed acts in modern folk, alongside legendary traditional musicians, the pick of overseas talent, dance teams, singing and instrument workshops, ceilidhs, silent discos, pub sessions and so much more.

The full programme is available to download now at www.sidmouthfolkweek.co.uk

But amongst the headliners throughout the week are:

Jim Moray (winner of the 2008 Mojo Folk Album of the Year), Lau (winners of the BBC Folk Award for Best Band, two year’s running and a personal favourite of mine) Waterson:Carthy, The Demon Barber Roadshow (named this year’s Best Live Act at the BBC Folk Awards), The Dhol Foundation and Jackie Oates (a double winner at the 2009 BBC Folk Awards and recent signing to One Little Indian).

There’s quite literally too many to mention. In addition there’s a full children and young people’s programme throughout the festival.

And this year Sidmouth is being all modern. You can follow us on Twitter @sidmouthfolk and keep an eye on the www.youtube.com/user/SidmouthFolkWeek for exclusive live sessions posted throughout the week.

Season tickets allowing entry to all events cost just £160.
