Our friends over at Songkick have been quaffing champagne with their cornflakes this morning, as they’ve finalled moved out of Beta and launched!
After a 12 month slog of compiling and creating a mammouth IMDB style database of concerts is finally live to the general public.
The site, as you can probably imagine, aims to provide the music fan with a one stop shop for all things concert-esque. The new version of the site encourages the documentation of live music events by letting users create their own personal “gigographies” by flagging concerts they’ve attended and sharing their experiences with photos, videos, setlists and othergubbins.
Launching with over a million concerts and complete tour histories for thousands of artists, the database provides any artist, concert, venue, and festival, a dedicated homepage for the anyone to annotate.
For all you Last.FM users out there, once signed up you can enter your Last.FM handle and Songkick will automatically pull in your top 50 artists and all your past and present gigs.
This comes TLOBF approved, so if you have any sense head on over to songkick.com and create your profile. Marvellous.
