Tinariwen have announced details of the release of a new album, Imidiwan : Companions through Independiente on Monday June 29th 2009.
The 13-track album, produced by Jean-Paul Romann, who had previously worked with Tinariwen on their debut album, The Radio Tisdas Sessions in 2001, was recorded in Tessalit, the Malian desert village home of band members Ibrahim Ag Alhabib & Hassan Ag Touhami.
