Swedish indie-pop purists Sad Day For Puppets release their eagerly-awaited debut album Unknown Colors on June 1 via the marvellous Sonic Cathedral.
The album includes the new download-only single, ‘Cherry Blossom’ (released on May 18), as well as the universally acclaimed ‘Marble Gods’, which was named Single Of The Week on Steve Lamacq’s BBC 6Music show dont’cha know.
These guys have the official TLOBF seal-of-approval. Just check out the Dinosaur Jr. apeing guitar on ‘Marble Gods’ via their MySpace player for proof. Utterly splendiferous.
To coincide with the release, the band play the following UK dates – taking in three London shows and even stopping off to play a show at the home of rock n roll. Crewe.
May
16 – Brighton – The Parlure Spiegeltent @ The Great Escape
17 – London – Windmill (with Vivian Girls)
18 – London – Rough Trade East (instore)
19 – London – Bardens Boudoir
20 – Manchester – Irish Centre
21 – Liverpool – Sound City
22 – Crewe – Volume Festival

Not bad this album… reminds me of a lot of late 80′s, early 90′s indie though…
