Pitchfork Festival adds further acts to stellar line-up

Posted on 18 April 2009 by Adam Elmahdi

If the initial line-up for July’s Pitchfork Festival didn’t look tantalising enough, a whole slew of awesome new bands have been recently added to a roster that would make even the most cynical muso drool in anticipation.

Psychedelic Brooklyners Yeasayer, French shoegaze types M83 and Portland folk-rockers Blitzen Trapper join Plants & Animals, Disappears and Mew for the event taking place at Chicago’s Union Park from 17th to 19th July. This all in addition to the already confirmed “Write The Night: Set Lists by Request” performances by Built to Spill, The Jesus Lizard, Yo La Tengo and Tortoise, and more conventional sets from the likes of The Flaming Lips, The National and Grizzly Bear. With even more names surely to be added over the next couple of months, this looks ever more like a festival worth jetting across the Atlantic for…
