Elbow to release limited edition album – ‘The Seldom Seen Kid Live At Abbey Road’

On Saturday 17th January at the world famous Abbey Road studios in London, Elbow performed the entirety of their Mercury Music Prize winning album The Seldom Seen Kid with the BBC Concert Orchestra and Chantage, the winners of Radio 3’s Choir Of The Year competition. The unique performance of the album was seen by a select audience and was broadcast on Radio 2 Sat night.

If you’re a UK reader, press the Red Button on any of the BBC channels to see the concert. It’s very good. The show saw the band play new and exclusive versions of the songs from the album in order. They were joined (as on the album) by Richard Hawley for ‘The Fix’.

The Seldom Seen Kid Live At Abbey Road is now available to buy as a limited edition package exclusively through the band’s website at www.elbow.co.uk.

The package includes not only a CD, but also a DVD of the entire show alongside four postcard portraits of the band in Studio One at Abbey Road, and an album booklet containing exclusive photos. Orders will be taken from January 29th with copies sent out in March. This version of the Seldom Seen Kid will be limited to direct orders only and no copies will be available in the shops.

Soon after this recording, The Seldom Seen Kid secured a second major honour in the shape of the South Bank Award for Best Album.

Elbow are now nominees for three BRIT Awards at this year’s ceremony in the form of Best Group, Best Album and Best Live Act.

    Hello

We have purchased a copy on line from the company Elbow used for distribution. We paid £20.00 and as pensioners it is money we can ill afford to loose. The company was Trinity I believ and they have gone into liquidation but taken our money out of the bank.

    Order no 68278
    cust no 4715
    Order date 7th FEB

The concert was brilliant and we are new switched on fans of ELBOW.
But they have NO customer services number to complain to. And the new site who are looking after THEIR NEW ORDERS has no number or email address
    in which I can contact.
I hope and pray that you know someone whom you can pass this enquiry onto.
Thank you, and I hope you can help me. I sound a little desperate , and I apologise for that. But I have come up to a blank wall every time I search on line.

    Thank you

    Lynda Mackintoah

Elbow sent out an email this week saying that they have found a new distributor for the sets due to Trinity disappearing. HMV will now be honouring these orders. See below:

The Abbey Road Boxset – Important News
Trinity Street, the providers of the Official Elbow Online store ceased trading last week.

The band were extremely concerned to ensure this would not affect their fans, especially those who had already ordered ‘The Seldom Seen Kid’ – Live At Abbey Road.

Therefore, all orders for the boxset will now be sent out by our new trusted partner hmv.com.

If you have pre-ordered already, your order will be processed and you need do nothing.

If you haven’t ordered your copy yet then click here to pre-order it now from hmv.com for delivery on the release date of 30th March.

Click here to enjoy a live clip of ‘Some Riot’, and treat yourself to a short taster of what to look forward to when the boxset arrives.

Many thanks for bearing with us.
