Marcus Söderlund is arguably one of the most in demand video directors in Swedish indie-dom at the moment. Having recently produced the excellent video for Loney Dear‘s comeback single ‘Airport Surroundings’ he has also just wrapped up work on a short with Air France for their new single ‘No Excuses’. Portraying a surfer riding a choppy sea in what look like almost arctic conditions – the video is a stark contrast to the lush summery tones of the music. Marcus tells TLOBF of the video: “My hero the surfer, has never surfed anywhere else. His world is the ice-cold gray-blue Swedish sea. The song is so warm and the pictures are cold, I like that simple contrast”.
