Rejoice! Suburban Kids with Biblical Names have (finally!) finished their first new release in over three years. The follow up to the classic debut album #3 will be a four track EP called…wait for it….#4. It comes out February 4th via Labrador. Not too much longer to wait then.. Download ’1999′ below. Read what the label have to say about it here:
Suburban Kids with Biblical Names in 2009 produce their music with chaotic playfulness. Each song usually goes through a large number of completely different versions and re-makes, perhaps ranging from slow country to uptempo afro pop, before the band is pleased and the song is finished. It’s definitely not a time efficient way of working. But, it does seem to make wonders for the final result.
“1999″ mixes British soul, tropical rhythms and Turkish disco with a bittersweet taste of lonely afternoons listening to Swedish radio. Nothing less than brilliant.
I’ve played the song in excess of 10 times straight and am now left with a mile wide grin. It’s genius. Download below and see for yourselves.
