Ooooooh Sound Of Arrows, I love you…let me count the ways.
For those out there who aren’t familiar with the pop genius of Labrador Records’ latest signings, you should be well and truly ashamed of yourselves. Their last single ‘Danger’ is categorically one of the most uplifting slices of pop music you are likely to hear. Maybe ever. And it’s certainly within my imaginary top singles of the year list that floats around aimlessly in my head.
The production duo return 28 January with a brand new single, which – on first impressions is just as good as ‘Danger’. This time they’ve gathered a young chanting school class, a girl singer from Tokyo and a handful of well hidden samples which they’ve mixed with bouncy analogue synthesizers, soulful guitars and orchestral instruments over a hundred recording channels. The result is a marvellous mix of old TV shows for children, old school hip-hop, new disco and timeless pop hits! Damn straight.
